Transportation electrification is reshaping the landscape of modern power systems, presenting both significant opportunities and complex challenges in system planning, operation, and control. This special session aims to bring together researchers and industry professionals to discuss practical and theoretical solutions for managing the interactions between electrified transport systems and the power grid. Topics will include various technical areas such as vehicle-grid integration and energy system optimization for rail, road, and air transport modes.We welcome original research that improves the understanding, modelling, and real-world application of sustainable, smart, and reliable electrified transport energy systems. This session will provide a platform to share recent research results and new technologies, covering topics including but not limited to:
- Power system planning and operation with high penetration of electrified road, road, rail, maritime, and aviation transport systems.
- Modelling and analysis of electrified transport energy systems (railway, road, maritime).
- Electrified transportation system smart charging technologies and their impacts on grid reliability and stability.
- Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) and Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) energy interaction and control.
- Energy-efficient train control and optimization of railway energy systems.
- Railway traction power supply systems and regenerative braking energy management.
- Grid-connected energy storage systems: integration, control, and optimization.
- Integration and management of sustainable transport energy systems.
- Battery modelling, state estimation, life prediction, thermal management, and anti-aging strategies.
- Hybrid energy storage systems and electrified powertrains for electrified road, maritime, railway, and aviation systems.
- Big data analytics, cloud computing, cyber-physical systems, and AI for electrified road, maritime, railway, and aviation systems.
